Neshannock boys fall
Lincoln Park (77) Vs. Neshannock (60)
Feb 04, 2015
The Leopards shot the lights out as they bested host Neshannock in Section 1-AA action.
Lincoln Park (13-0, 19-2) connected on 10 3-pointers, led by Antonio Kellem and Nelly Cummings who each hit four.
“We played a couple zones to try and force them to shoot the outside jumper,” Neshannock coach John Corey said. “If we were going to get beat, it’d be on the perimeter. They had six threes in the first half. Both times that we played them, we forced them to shoot the shots we wanted them to shoot and, to their credit, they made them.”
Ethan Moose led the Lancers (9-4, 14-6) with 22 points and Jim Powers added 14, including four deep shots.
“Jimmy Powers has been playing well, what doesn’t show in the box score is his effort the last couple weeks in practice,” Corey said. “His effort in practice has been tremendous, he’s gotten more and more playing time the last couple of games. His ability to shoot the basketball is solid and he’s impressed us. With additional time, he’ll see additional success.”
