Lady Scots get victory
Union (44) Vs. Lincoln Park (29)
Feb 04, 2015
The Lady Scots used a hot start to defeat visiting Lincoln Park in nonsection action.

Union (3-17) took a 12-5 lead heading into the second quarter and that helped the hosts put the Lady Leopards away early.

“We just played an overall solid game,” Union coach Larry Ondako said. “We jumped out to a 12-1 lead, Thompson had 11 in the first. We played good defense, they hit some threes in the second quarter.”

Skylar Thompson paced Union with 19 points and Sarah Seamans followed with 18.

But it was the return of sophomore Jenna Grzesiuk, who missed the last four games with a concussion, that sparked the effort.

“We just played a good overall third quarter,” Ondako said. “The biggest thing was getting Jenna back. I don’t think I’ve had someone play so well without making a hoop. She’s just that big of a factor for us, she made our defense go.”
