Dec 13, 2014
Sophomore Mason Mraz cranked out a triple-double, with a career-high 27 points, while also adding 13 assists and 10 rebounds in Laurel’s 92-65 WPIAL Section 1-AA homecourt victory over Summit Academy
“Mason is only a sophomore, but he is doing what we are expecting of him now,” Laurel coach Ken Locke said. “He works hard 365 days a year. We’ve been waiting for him to do something big and he did it tonight.
“Summit played zone for most of the game and he made a couple of shots and found some guys with great passes. Then once they went man, he was really able to attack.”
Jordan Dantico added 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Jacob Wilson totaled 19 points, Scott Siddall posted 16 markers and Noah Wertz contributed 10 tallies in the winning cause.
“I thought our guys played together and everybody did their share,” Locke said. “Dantico battled with a couple of big guys they have. I was very pleased with our performance tonight.”
Laurel is now 1-0 in the section, 2-2 overall, while Summit slipped to 0-1, 0-4.
