Wilmington (60) Vs. Vision Quest (95)
Jan 07, 2012
Vision Quest’s fast pace was too much for Wilmington in a 95-60 nonregion decision on the Greyhounds’ floor.
Vision Quest outscored Wilmington, 25-13, in the third quarter for a 42-23 halftime advantage.
“They’re a real high scoring kind of team,” Greyhounds coach Mike Jeckavitch said of Vision Quest. “We tried to slow them down with a 2-3 zone. But they’re a very athletic team.
“We just didn’t match their speed or athleticism. We played hard. There’s not a team in our league that’s this athletic.”
Matt Bowen led Wilmington (2-7) with 22 points and Josh Tekac was next with 12. Anthony Derrick chipped in with 11 markers and seven assists. Jordan Smith pulled down a team-best seven rebounds for the Greyhounds.
Darrian Brown poured in a game-high 30 points for Vision Quest.
“Brown is a mismatch nightmare for us,” Jeckavitch said. “He’s real fast.”
