The Wolverines turned in a strong defensive performance in a nonsection win over Avonworth.
Ellwood City (7-11) held Avonworth to 15 points in the second half, while the Wolverines scored 27.
Cody Mittica registered a triple-double with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.
Brandon Lucarelli also scored in double digits for Ellwood City with 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
Avonworth (4-15) received 13 points from Mitchell Locher.
