Nocera leads Ellwood girls

Michelle Nocera netted a game-high 25 points to lead Ellwood City Lincoln to a nonsection win over Shenango.
The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Lady Wolverines.
“It felt good to get a win,” Ellwood City coach Bill Gottuso said. “Shenango has a nice squad. We just felt confident playing against them.”
Nocera scored 18 of her points in the first half as the Lady Wolverines (6-8) built a 39-26 halftime bulge. She added nine rebounds and three assists.
“Michelle plays like she’s working an eight-hour shift,” Gottuso said. “She starts early and works late; she gives me everything she has every night.”
Michelle’s sister Nicole chipped in with 10 markers, six assists and six steals.
Angelene Rapone paced the Lady Wildcats (8-8) with 21 points and Carly Senko tallied 15.
