The Lady Greyhounds led the entire game before losing steam in the fourth quarter.

Wilmington starters Kara Kendall and Brooke Buchowski spent much of the first quarter in foul trouble and ended up seated again for much of the third and fourth periods.

“Even with Kara and Brooke on the bench, we had our chances, but we couldn’t put our foul shots in,” first-year Wilmington coach Brian Turk said. “But I really liked our intensity and aggressiveness — we came up with a lot of steals (15, led by Buchowski with six). This is definitely a go-get-em type team.”

The Lady Greyhounds held a 31-25 advantage on the boards, led by Kendall with eight.

Leah Day topped the Wilmington scorers with 11 points.
