The Lady Wildcats got as close as seven points in the second half but couldn't get closer in dropping a 47-32 Section 1-2A road contest to the Lady Chargers.

"They're a good team," said second-year Shenango coach Jason Rankin of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. "I was happy with our effort. We just made some young mistakes at times.

"I think we're still on the right track. Their defense was just enough to keep us from getting any spurts."

Madison Harden tossed in a team-best 10 points to lead the Lady Wildcats (2-5, 4-10) and Jacqui Baker was next with eight markers and eight rebounds.

Ashley Norling notched a game-high 18 points for the Lady Chargers (6-1, 11-4).
