The Lady Spartans outscored the Lady Quips 30-15 in the second half to rally for a 54-40 nonsection home win.
Laurel (5-10) trailed 25-24 at the break.
"We have eight girls that are healthy and four are freshmen," Lady Spartans coach Jessica Shevitz said. "It's just a different lineup; it just took us a little bit to get a feel for the game.
"Aliquippa is fast and athletic. Once we settled down, they played really well. I was happy to get a win."
Laurel freshman Caroline Gibson garnered a game-high 26 points, nine of those came in the third quarter and 15 total in the second half. She added five rebounds, four steals and four assists.
"With Kristin Dicks out (concussion), we ask Gibson to be a leader on the floor on offense," Shevitz said. "As a freshman, she's able to do that and control the game."
Makenna Collins collected nine points, five rebounds and four steals for the winners, while Brianna Reeher registered five steals.
Queenisa Gilbert led Aliquippa (4-11) with 14 points.
