Neshannock too strong for Mohawk
Neshannock (80) Vs. Mohawk (42)
Dec 22, 2015
The Lancers' Ethan Moose surpassed the 1,000-point plateau in leading his team to an 80-42 Section 1-AA road win over the Warriors.

Moose hit a field goal in the first 10 seconds off an assist by Frank Fraschetti to go over 1,000 points. It was the first points of the game. Moose now has 1,010 career points.

"Reaching that plateau is a tremendous honor for Moose," Neshannock coach John Corey said. "The time he's put into this game is incredible. Everyone knows what a great kid he is. It's great to see him achieve that goal."

The Lancers (4-0, 6-1) raced to a 30-7 lead after the first quarter and pushed it to 54-18 at the break. Mohawk (0-3, 0-7) turned the ball over 25 times, compared to just eight for Neshannock.

"We jumped on them pretty good in the first quarter," Corey said. "We played three or four different defenses in the first quarter; the goal was to pressure them."

Jason Swope led the Lancers with 20 points. Moose and Brandon Scheidemantle supplied 12 markers apiece, while Richie Serignese chipped in with 10.

Swope tossed in 18 of his tallies in the opening half.

Parker Lyons led Mohawk with nine points.

The Lancers were 28 of 49 from the field and the Warriors were 17 of 37.
