Four players hit double figures in the Lady Wildcats' 69-52 Section 1-AA victory.

Samantha Seaburn led the way with 19 points, while Angelina Sibeto added 16, Jacqui Baker 14 and Carolyn Peterson 10.

Carolyn Gibson scored 15 points for Laurel (1-3, 3-6) and Janna Conrad chipped in with 11.

Shenango (2-1, 4-2) led 20-13 after one quarter and 36-20 at the half.

Although Lady Wildcats coach Jason Rankin said he had to abandon his game plan, things certainly worked out for the best.

"We start three guards and one of those guards, Emma Rich, got two fouls early and picked up her third before I could get her out," Rankin said. "When we went big, I said, 'let's play zone,' and even though we haven't played it a whole lot, I think it caught them off guard.

"We were able to take control of the game and we just ended up staying in the zone since it was working," he added. "We went up by 31 in the fourth quarter, but I give Laurel credit, they kept playing and battling right to the final buzzer."
