The Lancers started strong in disposing of the visiting Knights for a Section 1-AA victory.
Neshannock (7-2, 11-4) led 18-8 after one quarter and made it stand.
“It was a good start for us,” Lancers coach John Corey said. “Thank God we had a good start.
“It was good to come out and make some baskets and get up early. We didn’t do too hot after that, though.”
Summit Academy (0-8, 1-12) regrouped in the second quarter and trimmed the deficit to 35-27 at the half. Neshannock carried a 50-36 advantage into the final frame.
“We have to get better at guarding the basketball,” Corey said. “Our on-ball defense wasn’t very good.
“We have some things we have to clean up. Luckily for us, they’re all things that can be fixed.”
Ethan Moose paced the Lancers with team-highs of 20 points and seven rebounds. Jimmy Medure chipped in with 10 markers. Frank Fraschetti handed out a team-best seven assists to go with five markers.
Dennis Richardson recorded a game-high 24 points for Summit Academy. He scored 11 of his points in the final frame.
