Greyhounds dig hole early, fall to Reynolds
Reynolds (65) Vs. Wilmington (49)
Jan 17, 2015
Wilmington fell behind 16-0 out of the gate and couldn’t make up the ground in a 65-49 District 10, Region 2-AA defeat to Reynolds last night.

Wilmington had no answer for the Raiders’ Garrett Frable, who went over 1,000 points in his career.

Travis Brumbaugh led the Greyhounds with 19 points, eight rebounds and five blocks and four assists, while Spencer DeMedal added 10 points and seven rebounds.

DeMedal picked up three fouls in the first half and Brumbaugh fouled out at the beginning of the fourth quarter, just as the ’Hounds cut the deficit to 46-40.

“Travis really stepped up his game when Spencer got into foul trouble,” Wilmington coach Mike Jeckavitch said. “We just got into such a hole early in the game and it was tough to dig out. We were really short on our jump shots, we had trouble stopping their big kid (Frable) inside and we struggled to get first rebounds off their misses. It just wasn’t a good night for us.”

The Greyhounds are 1-4, 3-9. Reynolds improved to 4-1, 7-7.
