Shenango falls to Beaver Falls, again
Shenango (27) Vs. Beaver Falls (65)
Jan 19, 2013
Shenango’s rematch against Beaver Falls came to the same disappointing conclusion — a 65-27 loss — as the first for Wildcats’ coach Bob McQuiston.
“Besides being athletic, Beaver Falls is good,” he said. “They know how to guard you tight. There wasn’t one point down the court when someone wasn’t in our face.”
Shenango dropped its second contest this season to the Section 2-AA Tigers (8-0, 12-3), previously losing at home, 68-32.
“Our kids were looking over their shoulders, afraid they were going to get blocked,” McQuiston said. “We were getting off quick shots so they wouldn’t get blocked, and we missed a lot of them.”
The Wildcats (2-6, 5-9) missed all of their shots in the first quarter, trailing 17-0 after the frame. For the game, Shenango shot 10 of 40 from the field.
“It’s tough to win games when you shoot the ball like that,” McQuiston said.
Greg DePorzio recorded eight points to lead the Wildcats. In three games this week, the guard is averaging 14 points a game.
