Mistakes doomed Laurel in a 78-54 Section 2-AA road loss to New Brighton.
“We turned the ball over too much. We’re not taking care of the basketball,” first-year Spartans coach Ken Locke said.
Scott Siddall netted 14 points for Laurel (0-3, 1-5) and Josh Finley was next with 13.
“Scott shot the ball well,” Locke said. “He was one of the bright spots.”
TaShaun Goode posted a game-best 18 points for the Lions (3-0, 6-1).
