Beaver Falls girls top Neshannock
Beaver Falls (48) Vs. Neshannock (36)
Dec 20, 2007
The Neshannock High girls basketball team lost its first section game of the season last night.
Beaver Falls upended the Lady Lancers and earned a 48-36 WPIAL Section 2-AA victory.
“They were just by far the best team tonight,” Neshannock coach Greg Huston said. “They played great all-around tonight and we were the exact opposite. We turned the ball over and didn’t play any defense.”
The Lady Tigers (3-1 section, 5-5 overall) jumped out to a 13-4 lead in the first quarter and kept the pace.
“They came out of the game with a tough defense,” Huston said. “We were very un-Neshannock like tonight with our defense. Normally, when we’ve been in tough games we could always rely on our defense. That wasn’t the case tonight.”
Erika Warvell turned in a game-high 15 points for the Lady Lancers (4-1, 4-3). Kylee Patton followed with seven markers.
Alyssa Miller led Beaver Falls with 12 points and Dyara Williams chipped in with 10.
