Rochester jumped on Union in the second and third quarters en route to a Section 1-A win.

The Rams (7-0, 15-3) outscored the Scotties in those periods, 48-26. Rochester is ranked No. 1 in the WPIAL in Class A by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“They’re just a good basketball team,” Union coach Dave Smialowski said of Rochester. “They’re very talented and they can shoot the ball.

“You have to pick your poison on how you have to guard them because they can shoot the ball.”

Benjamin Young registered 11 points for Union (0-7, 1-17) and Tre Major was next with 10.

Jasson Adamson led all scorers with 29 points for the Rams.
