Neshannock’s pressure defense forced 30 turnovers in a blowout, nonsection victory over Freedom.

The Lady Lancers (5-1, 12-2) used a full-court press to shut down the Lady Bulldogs, who were tied with Neshannock at 8-all before a 25-0 run.

“There were probably at least 10 or 12 possessions in a row where they didn’t even get a shot attempt off and we converted in transition,” Neshannock coach Luann Grybowski said. “We went full court press and got a lot of steals and lay ups.”

The Lady Lancers led 33-8 before Freedom (2-11) knew what hit it. Marianne Piatek led four Neshannock players in double figures with 14. Chelsea Kauffman netted 13, while Ericka Warvell and Ashlee Patton added 12 apiece. Caitlin Binder provided nine points, five steals and five assists for the Lady Lancers, who shot 27 of 58 from the field.
