Moniteau outscored Laurel 35-21 in the second half to pull away for a nonsection win.

The Spartans (3-7) were limited to just four third-quarter points as the Warriors built a 33-25 advantage. The hosts shot just 14 of 66 from the field as well.

“We played well in the first half, but we ran out of gas,” Laurel coach Mike Tinstman said. “We didn’t shoot well, either.

“I can’t criticize the effort. We’re just not shooting the ball well.”

Chad Long recorded game-highs for the Spartans in scoring (24) and rebounds (8).

Zach Sloan poured in a game-best 31 markers for Moniteau.
