Blackhawk girls rout Ellwood
Blackhawk (79) Vs. Ellwood City (44)
Dec 21, 2010
The Lady Wolverines didn’t take their coach’s advice against Blackhawk, and the result wasn’t pretty.

Ellwood City Lincoln committed 43 turnovers, including 15 in the opening quarter, and Blackhawk cruised to a Section 2-AAA victory.

“I told them to play within themselves — don’t try and make the great play, just make the right play,” said Lady Wolverines coach Bob Gottuso of his pregame speech. “We came out and tried to make great plays. Unfortunately, the great plays turned into easy baskets for them.”

The Lady Cougars (3-2) led, 46-16, at the half. Alexa Haywood of Blackhawk scored a game-high 25 points, while Alexis Graham contributed 17. Michelle Nocera led Ellwood City (2-3) with 12 points.
