Wilmington was red hot in the first half of a victory over West Middlesex.

The Lady Greyhounds (2-1) outscored West Middlesex, 39-18, in the first two frames. Haley Marett led the charge, scoring 16 of her team-high 17 in the first half. She also posted five steals.

Julie Burns added 14 points and a team-best nine rebounds for Wilmington. Burns, along with Grace Gealy and Catherine Foltz, aided a strong defensive effort with four steals each.

“I hope we can keep it going,” Wilmington coach Brandy Sanford said. “We’ll have a tough opponent this week against Sharon. I’m anxious to see how that one goes.”

The Ms. Reds’ Alexis Summers led all scorers with 22 points, including the only three 3-pointers of the game.
