Cold shooting dooms Lady 'Hounds

The Lady Greyhounds could not overcome poor shooting in a District 10, Region 2-AA loss to Greenville.

Wilmington (2-1, 6-3) made only 15 of 72 shots, compared to Greenville’s 20-for-48 effort.

“We just couldn’t put the ball in the hole,” said Lady ’Hounds coach Brian Turk, whose team had a chance to take sole possession of first place with a win.

Stephanie Kish and Mariah Burns were the only Wilmington players in double figures. Kish tallied 14 points and Burns contributed 11.

Julie Burns collected a team-high 13 rebounds for the Lady ’Hounds.

Greenville improved to 3-0 in the region and 8-2 overall.
