Neshannock was outrebounded 43-21 in their loss to Sharpsville in the Lady Lancers Christmas Tournament championship game.

The Lady Lancers (3-4) entered intermission with a 21-18 lead, but a nine-point second half cost them the victory.

“We couldn’t buy a bucket,” said Neshannock coach Luann Grybowski, whose team scored the first two baskets of the second half only to go the next 5:30 without a field goal. “They were trapping the first pass and we kept turning it over. It’s a disappointing way to go into the break.”

Chelsea Kaufman tallied 17 points and five steals for the Lady Lancers, while Caitlin Binder ripped down nine rebounds.

“Chelsea is playing well,” Grybowski said. “She’s doing some good things both offensively and defensively. She attacks the basket and Binder does too.”
