Wilmington (57) Vs. Jamestown (47)
Dec 23, 2009
The Greyhounds recovered from a slow start to beat Jamestown in District 10, nonregion action.
Wilmington coach Will Harris said his team was outplayed for 29 out of the 32 minutes in the game, but a three-minute span in the fourth quarter made all the difference.
The ’Hounds (3-1) employed a full-court man-to-man press the entire game, which finally produced seven turnovers late in the contest. Wilmington outscored Jamestown 22-11 in the final frame.
“We played the way we were capable of playing,” Harris said of his team’s late push. “The team just decided to play defense. Really, that was the only difference.”
Darryl Pace and Brandon Burk each recorded double-doubles for the ’Hounds. Pace notched 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Burk recorded 10 and 11.
Jake DeMedal led Wilmington with 17 points and Matt Moesta chipped in with 11.
