Peterson sets record in Shenango rout
Carolyn Peterson is one of the best girls 3-point field goal shooters ever to come out of Shenango High.
Now she has a spot in the record books.
The senior guard connected on five treys Monday night to increase her career total to 84, tying the record Kim Martino set from 2002-06.
In the process, the Lady Wildcats rolled past South Side Beaver 82-40 in the nonsection regular-season finale on the road.
Shenango moves on to the playoffs at 13-9 and will learn its fate Tuesday night at the WPIAL pairings meeting. South Side Beaver closes out at 6-16.
Jacqui Baker paced the Lady Wildcats with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Peterson added 16 points and Samantha Seaburn 12. Angelina Sibeto dished out 12 assists.
The Lady Golden Rams shot 42 free throws as Seaburn and Madison Harden fouled out.
