Wilmington falls to West Middlesex
Wilmington (35) Vs. West Middlesex (54)
Jan 21, 2016
The Lady Greyhounds had a tough time keeping pace with the powerful Ms. Reds in a 54-35 road loss.

West Middlesex is now 7-0 in District 10, Region 2-AA and 16-1 overall. Wilmington slipped to 3-4 and 5-9.

Lauren Frederick led the Lady Greyhounds with 11 points.

Wilmington trailed 7-6 after one quarter and just 18-12 at the half.

"We played a good first half, we slowed the tempo and took care of the ball and made them play defense," Lady Greyhounds coach Matt Fabian said. "We had a 12-10 lead with three minutes to go in the second quarter, then let them go on an 8-0 run.

"We cut it to 18-14 in the second half and they hit some big shots and it just kind of snowballed from there. We forced them to take jumpers in the first half, then let them get the ball inside too easy in the second half," he added. "But they are a heavy favorite to win our region and we really battled, so I was proud of our effort tonight."
