Neshannock thwarts New Brighton upset bid
Neshannock (77) Vs. New Brighton (34)
Jan 19, 2016
The visiting Lions hung around early, but Neshannock quickly squashed the upset bid in a Section 1-AA match.

Neshannock (6-2, 12-4) led by just four after the first quarter, but outscored New Brighton by 13 and 14 points in the second and third quarters, respectively, en route to a 77-34 victory.

"They played zone throughout and we just couldn't make shots in the first quarter," Neshannock coach John Corey said. "We started hitting our shots and attacking the rim more in the second and they were hitting uncharacteristic shots in the first. Second quarter, we did a good job of converting from defense to offense, our transition offense was good in that second quarter."

Ethan Moose led the Lancers with 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Jake Rylott followed with 14 points and five steals. Jason Swope added 12 points and Ean Oprean contributed 11 markers apiece.
