The Lady Spartans were just 12 of 62 from the field in dropping a 59-40 Section 1-AA road contest to the Lady Tigers.

"The shots just aren't falling; we're getting shots," Laurel coach Jessica Shevitz. "A lot of those are layups. We missed some easy shots inside.

"We've been getting tons of reps in at practice. We're getting outrebounded, too."

Kristin Dicks paced the Lady Spartans (1-4, 4-8) with 10 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Diana Pontius provided nine markers.

"I thought Dicks left her heart and soul out there on the floor," Shevitz said. "I'm pleased with her play. She's a gamer.

"She comes into the gym and she's the first one to start shooting around and she's the last one to leave the gym."

Kashius Harris netted 16 points to lead Beaver Falls (2-4, 6-7).

"We have two goals. That's to outrebound teams and to hold them to under 40 points," Shevitz said. "When we do that, we win. When we don't, we lose."
