The Lady Wildcats missed a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left that would have given them the lead and another with eight seconds to go that would have tied it. Shenango eventually dropped a narrow 49-46 verdict to the Lady Quakers in the Shenango Holiday Tournament.

"We had a late comeback but we just couldn't get over the hump," Shenango coach Jason Rankin said. "It was one of those games that you have to win when you have a chance."

Angelina Sibeto supplied 18 points and six steals for the Lady Wildcats, while Samantha Seaburn notched 13 markers and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Shenango (5-3) was just 16 of 58 from the field.

"It's been a tough year in some ways," Rankin said. "We rebound the ball really well. But we're not shooting the ball very well and we were in the game. Usually that spells doom. But because we are so ferocious rebounding the basketball that kept us in the game."
