Lincoln Park (76) Vs. Laurel (51)

Lincoln Park used a strong fourth quarter to take a 76-51 Section 1-AA victory over visiting Laurel.
The Leopards outscored the Spartans 25-8 in the final eight minutes after only holding an eight-point advantage.
“It’s frustrating, but it’s something you expect,” Laurel coach Ken Locke said. “We were fighting and right there by the end of the third. In the end, they’re number two in the state for a reason. They got a couple offensive rebounds, too many second chances and that was the difference.”
Nelly Cummings paced Lincoln Park (11-0, 17-2) with 22 points and Antonio Kellem followed with 21.
Noah Wertz led Laurel (8-3, 13-6) with 14 points, while Scott Siddall tallied 10.
Locke still liked what he saw of his team against a tough opponent, despite the outcome.
“I don’t think the final score is indicative of how well we played. I thought Mraz played fabulous, Dantico played well. We’re not making excuses, we just have to be a little bit better. When you play teams like this, you need to execute and do the little things and we just didn’t make enough plays.”
