Union girls fall to Rochester
Rochester (39) Vs. Union (21)
Jan 16, 2015
A poor offensive showing hindered visiting Union in its loss to Section 1-A foe Rochester.

The Lady Scots (0-6, 2-12) only connected on seven field goals and didn’t score double-digit points in any quarter.

“We struggled to score, that’s it,” Union coach Larry Ondako said. “We played pretty good, held them to 22 points in the first half. But we just couldn’t find the hoop.”

Sarah Seamans was the top scorer for Union with eight points.

Alayah Mullins led the Lady Rams (2-4, 6-7) with a game-high 18 points.

Ondako was satisfied with his team’s performance and hustle, despite the end result.

“We played really hard,” Ondako said. “It was a really good game even though the score doesn’t show that.

“I told them after the game, they couldn’t have played it any better or harder. We made a push in the second half, but we dug ourselves a hole too deep.”
