Rylott leads Neshannock
Neshannock (71) Vs. Riverside (47)
Dec 24, 2014
Neshannock High’s Jake Rylott couldn’t be stopped from beyond the arc.
The junior guard connected on eight 3-pointers and tallied 28 points as the Lancers’ boys basketball team knocked off host Riverside, 71-47, in a WPIAL Section 1-AA matchup.
Ethan Moose recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Neshannock.
The Lancers (4-0 section, 5-1 overall) jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter, a product of a few days of preparation in lieu of last night’s meeting.
“We had a pretty good gameplan,” Corey said. “I thought our guys executed it to perfection. Riverside is a very good team, (Riverside coach) John Rorick does a good job with them. A lot of their sets and a lot of what they run offensively, we’ve been going over them the past four days in the practice. The last minute of the second quarter, we gave up six points.”
The Panthers (2-2, 4-3) came out of the half focusing on Rylott and Moose, but left Frank Fraschetti with enough room to hit two 3-pointers in the second quarter.
“They play very well off one another,” Corey said of Rylott and Moose. “Frank Fraschetti had a couple of big threes in the third quarter and that was frustrating Riverside. “To have another guy step up and knock a couple threes down, it was terrific.”
Fraschetti finished the game with eight points and added a team-high seven assists.
