The Ellwood City Wolverines scored eight points in the second and third quarter combined in their 73-37 Section 2-AAA loss to Beaver Falls.

The Tigers jumped out to a 28-13 lead after the first quarter, but turned the defensive intensity up in the middle quarters, outscoring Ellwood City 34-8.

Beaver Falls (3-0, 6-0) featured three scorers in double digits, led by Donovan Jeter’s 17 points. Josh Creach followed with 15 points and Javon Turner toaled 13.

Anthony Roth paced Ellwood City (0-2, 2-5) with 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Rick Roth was the next highest scorer with nine points.
