Mohawk falls to Riverside
Riverside (50) Vs. Mohawk (43)
Jan 23, 2013
Mohawk couldn’t close out a Section 2-AA meeting at Riverside.
The Warriors (5-4, 7-9) trailed by three in the third quarter, and managed just seven points in the final frame for their third consecutive loss.
“We’re not scoring for four straight quarters,” Mohawk coach Rob Fadden said. “You can’t have quarters under double figures and expect to win too many games.”
The brothers Grim, Jonathan and Lucas, each had 10 points for the Warriors. Saivon Watt was next with nine.
Mohawk’s gameplan was to contain Riverside’s inside game of Tyler Falk and Gig Jewell. Although the Warriors held the two combined to 20 points, the outside shooters for the Panthers came through. Brent Mulneix had a game-high 16 points, including three 3-pointers.
“I thought our guys did a good job with both of their post players, Jewell and Falk,” Fadden said. “They had a couple guys knock down some shots from the outside, but that wasn’t going to deviate us from our gameplan.”
