Ellwood slams South Side
Ellwood City (51) Vs. South Side (33)
Jan 16, 2013
Ellwood City Lincoln snapped a 12-game losing streak in a decisive nonsection win against visiting South Side Beaver.

“It’s good to get that next win. It’s been awhile,” Wolverines coach Anthony Ovial said. “We’ve been close in games. We played games tough. We’ve played teams tough.”

Ellwood City (3-12) was carried by its defense, which limited the Rams to 16 points through three quarters.

“They were very in tune with the game plan. That was our key,” Ovial said.

Shooting has been a problem for the Wolverines during the course of their 12-game skid. That wasn’t the case against South Side Beaver, as Ellwood City registered eight 3-pointers.

Nick Aloi led the winners with 19 points. Mario Greco was next with 10 and a team-high nine rebounds.
