Ellwood girls net road win

The Lady Wolverines took control in the second quarter en route to a nonsection road win over Aliquippa.
Ellwood City Lincoln outscored the Lady Quips in the pivotal period, 15-1, to claim a 17-8 halftime advantage.
“We came out slow again and didn’t get anything started until the middle of the second quarter,” Lady Wolverines coach Jolene Servick said.
Karington Ketterer netted a game-high 16 points for Ellwood (7-7).
“Karington really stepped up this game,” Servick said. “Her outside shot kept us in the game when the rest of the girls were struggling to find their own.”
Asia Borders pulled down a team-high nine rebounds for the winners and Angela McCowin was next with six. Francesca Nardone handed out five assists.
Ciara Clark collected a team-high 14 points for Aliquippa (1-12).
