Mercer had two big quarters, outscoring Wilmington 20-7 in the second quarter and 22-15 in the fourth to earn a 58-41 District 10, Region 1-AA/A victory.
“We just couldn’t put the ball in the hole,” Lady Greyhounds coach Brian Turk said. “It was a pretty balanced game,, but we couldn’t get the spark we needed.”
Kara Kendall had a double-double for Wilmington (3-4 section, 5-6 overall) with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Leah Day followed with eight markers while Brooke Buchowski added eight rebounds and six points.
