Courtney Frengel also hit double figures for the Lady Lancers (6-3) with 11 points, but head coach Greg Huston pointed to his team’s defensive performance in the second quarter as the game’s turning point.

Neshannock fell behind 9-5 after one quarter, but outscored Warren JFK 14-4 in the second.

“The first quarter we were pretty sloppy on defense,” Huston said. “But to come out in the second quarter and hold them to four points, I thought that was key.

“We’re never going to be an explosive offensive team, so we have to work on getting stops.”
