DeMedal ignites Wilmington
Wilmington (58) Vs. Sharpsville (48)
The Wilmington High boys basketball team didn’t play especially well Friday night, but it got the job done.

Senior guard Spencer DeMedal poured in 26 points in the Greyhounds’ 58-48 District 10, Region 2-2A homecourt win over Sharpsville.

Joey Pezzano scored 9 points on a trio of 3-pointers for the winners.

DeMedal added eight rebounds and five assists and Cameron Marett also had five assists.

“We didn’t play particularly well, but when you are going up against league opponents, they know what you do, especially by the second time around,” Greyhounds coach Mike Jeckavitch said.

“We didn’t shoot well, either from the field or the foul line. It was just one of those nights.”

Wilmington is now 8-3 in the region, 12-7 overall. Sharpsville is 3-8, 6-10.
